It is 87th birth anniversary of Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam. The Vaachan Prerna Diwas will encourage reading habits among students. Dr. Mrs Ratani Thakur, Oriental College of Education, Principal and Mr.Salim Dhanse, Librarian of OCE, had taken efforts to organize this event successfully. The event is organized in lecture Hall at 10.30am. The event started at 10.30 a.m. at lecture Hall. Mrs Swarnalata Soni welcomed all the, Faculties, Librarians and students. Lighting of Lamp done by Dr.Ratani Thakur Principa,and Dr.Sangeeta Nath, Prof. faculty members . Felicitation to the Honorable dignitary by Ratani Thakur principal,oce Ribbon Cutting by Dr.Ratani Thakur Principal at Book Exhibition which was initiated by Himalaya Publications and Jai Ambe Book House. Books work kept on various subjects along with Kalam’s books. The event was organized in order to bring outer exposure to its students, to sow the seed of interest and to enhance their knowledge. Hence, the event turned out to be a grand success. Students presented ppt.&flim-I am kalam ,at 1:30 in seminar hall about the Dr. APJ Kalam. He was Indian scientist and politician who played a leading role in the development of India’s missile and nuclear weapons programs. He was president of India from 2002 to 2007. He widely referred to as the "People's President". He returned to his civilian life of education, writing and public service after a single term. He authored several books and poems. He was a recipient of several prestigious awards, including the Bharat Ratna, India's highest civilian honour. We have also conducted Elocution and Reading Competition on Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam. Students participated in Elocution competition. In Reading Competition some students presented Reading by Dr. APJ Kalam, some presented Reading on Dr. APJ Kalam and some students presented by writing them. Dr.Ratani Thakur principal had given speech about the Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam and also given guidance to participate of Elocution Competition. She has also given the massage of Dr. Apj Abdul kalam about hard work. to listen and then prize given to student certificates given to students who participated in Elocution and Reading competitions. Vote of thanks is proposed by Prof.Swarnalata Soni to all the dignitaries, Management and Faculty members, Librarian, teaching on nonteaching staff and Students who were present for the celebration and made it successful.
